Rhianna's Back

So I am outside the other morning watering my flowers when Rhianna runs outside and says "Julia! Julia! I know how to clime trees, I do it all the time!" Our yard is full of trees so naturally I said "ok, climb one." To which she responds, "Ok, I just need a ladder." Oh such a california apartment girl. Climbs a tree with a ladder. I have no ladder, so instead we went in the back yard where we conveniently happen to have a tree with a ladder built in. THAT one she can climb.

Today we went to the MK nature center here in Boise where we saw fish and butterflys and all sorts of stuffed game animals. We learned what a caribou pelt feels like, how heavy a rainbow trout can be, and what a beaver damn looks like. All in all we had a blast. Rhianna and Alex love each other and just play with each other all day. Bear and Cami also love the extra attention. So far it's been a pretty fun week.

Not just for dogs.

Um... what could possible be said? Alex has a very rude mom who thought it was a little chilly outside and she shut the door. Don't ever let it be said that he doesn't know how to overcome obsticles.

Jeff left for Sacramento today to pick up Rhianna. They will be back tomorrow evening and she will be staying until the end of the summer, middle/end of August. So Alex and I decided to keep ourselves busy and went to Old Navy to buy $2 tank tops. Alex didn't find any tanktops, but he did find this little stuffed toy that he fell in love with and wouldn't put down. It just so happened that it is pink. When we went to the front to check out the lady looked at it and said, "um.. you know we have little boy toys right?" Yeah, tell him that. After that we went out to our friends/cousin's house Erin and Adam where he proceeded to lay in the hammock and eat cookies with Adam for over an hour. Apparently they are BFFs. It was pretty cute.

First Haircut!!

So this weekend we went to Idaho Falls and Alex got his very first haircut. He was getting pretty shaggy, so Aunt Nellie decided to help him out. He wasn't a huge fan, but he handled it a lot better than I expected him to. We only had to hold him still for a few seconds, then mostly he just growled and whined. He pretty much looks like a little boy now. Not our baby anymore...

Summer = Wet

So, it's summer. That means it's hot and that means water. Alex has found the sprinkler and thinks it's awesome. It's even better because since he has found the sprinklers he has also found the faucet in the tub and for the first time since he was born he isn't trying to jump out of the tub the entire time he is in there. It's very very nice. So yesterday we were outside and Jeff was spraying off the patio and Alex kept trying to get the water. We had just gotten him dressed and were getting ready to go to the store so Jeff didn't want him to get in the water. To which I responded, who cares? If he gets he a little wet it's not that hard to change him! So I walk into the house and when I walk back out I see that Jeff had pretty much just sprayed him down. Not exactly what I meant .... ;0)

The Park

So we finally got moved and settled in our new house. Jill and Nellie and PJ came and helped us the whole weekend, so we went to the park to have some fun. Alex went down the slide and sat on a big plastic dinosaur and didn't seem to care at all. Pj had enough fun for the both of them though so it worked out well.

Cuz He's Awesome

So let me try to explain. Again my child has proven that he would rather be naked than have on a diaper. Only now the weather is nice enough to have him bolt outside and show the neighbors his birthday suit. And again, we are the kind of parents who just point and laugh rather than take him back inside. As for the second picture.... Jeff no longer has night classes so last night he put Alex's pajamas on him. And as you can see it is very much fat guy in a little coat... He is one HUGE kid popping out of his teeny tiny pjs. Don't worry, we are also the kind of parents who didn't change him. Why would we? So yesterday he decided he is a walker now. He has been taking a few steps here and there for a few weeks now, but yesterday he started taking 7 or 8 steps all the time. It was pretty awesome! He also has figured out how to go down stairs and steps without falling. It's a pretty good time watching him. Anyway, enjoy!

Clean Teeth are Good Teeth

So we have been pretty busy around here. Last week was Jeff's last week of classes, so he had portfolios and assignments due so he was swamped. I was busy trying to start packing (we move into a smaller house this weekend..) and Alex was busy going through a growth spurt. He is now 10 months old and wearing 12-18 month clothes. Big boy. Then on Saturday I did the Susan G. Komen race for the cure which was fun, and later that night we had our friend Avery's first Birthday party. The bottom pic is Alex and Avery, she is two months older, but she is actually just a little bit smaller than him. But they like to play together and have a good time. Also, apparently Alex LOVES to brush his teeth. That picture cracks me up, whenever he wants anything he opens up his mouth that wide. It's pretty awesome.
